I may add that writing off the existing claim
for suspension would be very likely to have a similar
result, as the fact would have to appear in the next
Annual Report of the British Section copies of which are
furnished to all the principal Chinese railway officials.
Details of the claims in respect of demurrage

are now enclosed. As stated in the third paragraph of
Sir C. Clementi's despatch No.253 of 17th May, 1929, all
2 claims for demurrage since the close of 1925 have been
regularly met by the Chinese Section and the total
outstanding therefore remains at the figure there given
$56,388.00.
